Ana Chavez, Keisha Goss, and Anthonette Suerto all work at REACH LA; Ana is Youth Coordinator; Ann and Keisha are Peer Educators. These young women are very familiar with death. Their strength, wisdom and insight have been inspirational to me.
Liseth Chavez is a sometimes high school student and brilliant young woman who is bravely trying to find a place for herself in the world.
Yin Lee is a student at Otis College of Art and Design where I teach part time. Speaking about death is taboo in Yin's family and she has wrestled eloquently with the subject since I met her three years ago.
