In the summer of 1995, five years after the discovery of the mass
grave, the members of the Santiago forensic institute were able to
identify thirteen of the men.
Vicky's brother, Jose, was identified by his jaw, a piece
of his left cheek which had a bullet hole through it at the height
of his ear, a piece of his forehead with an exit wound from a
bullet, a piece of his foot that was in a work boot, and his nose.
Violeta's compañero, Mario, was identified by his teeth.
At the beginning of 1996, the women are still following leads and digging
in the Atacama. There is the strong possibility that there is another mass
grave containing some or all of the missing twelve men.
