Robert F. Nideffer


Robert F. Nideffer researches, teaches and publishes in the areas of virtual environments and behavior, interface theory and design, technology and culture and contemporary social theory. He holds an MFA in Computer Arts and a Ph.D. in Sociology. In 1998 he was a Research Specialist in the Department of Computer Science, University of California, Santa Barbara, where he directed User Interface Design and Implementation for the Alexandria Digital Library. Currently he is an Assistant Professor in Studio Art at UC Irvine and Co-PI for a research across disciplines initiative entitled "Online Public Spaces: Multidisciplinary Explorations in Multiuser Environments."
